I have set aside time to meet with like minded friends and create. We bring our own work to my studio, and work on these as we share thoughts and reflections from “Why Art Matters, A Call for Christians to Create” by Alistair Gordon.
It is very casual and we try to meet around each other’s schedules. One of my passions is to encourage others to give time to creating. So this opportunity is one I seek to build into my new rhythm (post working in the classroom). Recently in looking at chapter two, we marvelled in the materials we use and how the form matters to God, not just the function.
Whether it is clay, pastels, printmaking, paint….. we work along side each other and allow God to be in our artmaking and conversation.
